Actually, there was no Maths done at the flat warming. Just a haircut, Mattress Canoe and food.20 Nov, 2008
In theory we have a barbecue (and meat), so that's all good. Hopefully it's a nice sunny day and we can stand in Melissa's garden and have a good sausage. If you want rabbit food, bring your own (or bring some to share if you're so inclined). (More)15 Nov, 2008
So, we have a date. It's the 6th of December. Same kinda idea as last time (cruise on up, piss us off, leave) but at a new location (with a different coloured arrow). (More)10 Nov, 2008
It's almost time to warm another flat. This time, Dec 6. Keep the date free (though we're really close to Kilbirnie if you want to be one of those "enthusiastic" Christians...) (More)20 Oct, 2008
My bed has fleas. Melissa thinks they had lots of sex in the carpet then decided to attack the bed. (More)30 Sep, 2008
We've moved. At last. And the Internet is back on at home (will get cable eventually). Still no couch this morning (I doubt Melissa set it up) so there's not much to sit on, but we have music and Internets. (More)26 Sep, 2008
We're moving on Sunday morning (most probably). We don't actually have a key yet, but our lease starts on Sunday, so we had better get one by then. We've got a fair bit of stuff to move (fridge, freezer, washing machine, bed, dressers, Blitz etc.) so will need some assistance. If you're interested, drop me an email.UPDATE: We're getting the key at 1500 on Saturday. Moving on Sunday morning is confirmed. (More)

And now we're once again evicted. This is getting annoying. In theory, we should get an extra 42 days, but I doubt we'll get it (or want it). If we don't get the one we applied for today, it looks like we're off to my old shed. Great. (More)17 Sep, 2008
So it turns out that we're no longer evicted. But we might still leave. We're currently looking at a place that Melissa has decided she wants, and there's no stopping her... (More)20 Aug, 2008
Well, not evicted. But it sounds better. Anyway, our landlords have family members moving into our current place, which means we get until the 28th of September to move out. So if anyone knows of a flat that's around the Eastern Suburbs and in our price range (we're poorer than students), telling us will get you dolphins in your head. (More)04 Aug, 2008
House Rules:- My word is final.

Okay, we got this figured out. On the 19th of April, at my place. Which is 11/76 Freyberg St in Lyall Bay. 1500 start. (More)27 Mar, 2008
We now have everything a successful flat needs. Except Cable. Bloody Bodycorp. I'll put some photos up when I get a chance. Iff I can be bothered. (More)15 Mar, 2008
This will be happening on the something of April. The 2nd 3rd Saturday. And calendar isn't open on my dashboard, Steve is too far away and iCal isn't in my dock. Somebody else can figure out the date.UPDATE: Due to the issue raised in the first comment, the party has been postponed until the 19th of April. (More)

I have a new house. Cosy one in Lyall Bay. Moving out once the Internet goes in. (More)12 Oct, 2006
I'm cleaning my flat! WOW! Me and Melissa and lots and lots of cleaning products. And I own a vacuum cleaner, so that's very good. (More)25 Jul, 2006
So, I've been skipping meals. Alot of meals. Melissa thinks it's why I'm so out of it on Saturdays and Sundays (I tend to agree), so I've decided to start eating proper dinners (that the important meal - lunch I get easy (me and Melissa have a little something going on...)). (More)03 Mar, 2006
So, week one is almost over. It's weird being a second year. And first years are so annoying!A few things I've noted, done, or feel like sharing: (More)

Okay. As you should know, I don't sleep here that much. Just two nights a week (and only one of those will be in my bed this weekend thingy). So I don't get to look at my windows as much as I would like. Anyway, hanging out with Blitz and a bottle up here is much preferable to almost anything else that I would spend my afternoons doing (Melissa is too far away and I miss her heaps. So I hit the bottle and the broadband to forget). (More)29 Nov, 2005
Whoever had the idea of putting a double bed in my room deserves to be killed. Badly. I had to move the thing. Unaided. Lots of fun though. The base was rather easy to move. And now, as a plus, I have a large clear space in the middle of my room, which looks so much bigger now. It means I can jump around to my music with ease. Yay! (-:29 Oct, 2005
This might seem weird under flatting, but God rocks my world. Bigtime. (More)21 Sep, 2005
One of the most important things you have while flatting is the house key. Forget it, and you are basically screwed. However, I somehow still managed to forget mine on Sunday evening, when I went to church.I had just spend a large portion of time in deep thought (Michael is not yet ironed out. Give me time.) on the bus and the walk up the hill. I realised that I had forgotten my key awhile back, sometime on the bus. However, I still believed that a "back door" was available and I would be able to get in without any problems... (More)

I broke something. From wear and tear. And because I live in a flat, I'm supposed to tell the landlord and then wait for ages for somebody to come and fix it.. (More)17 Jun, 2005
There is a party happening at my place (8A Emily Way, Karori) on the 22nd of June. It stats at 1900-ish, and will probably finish the next morning again. Buses leave at the bottom of the hill up to 2340Its because there are some people out there that want to see my flat (and quite a few more that don't), and some that want to see it again, and somebody wants to meet yomcat (who is not me. It can get confusing, and I'll explain if I ever get time) and because exams are over. So its the holidays, and I need something to do that isn't work. Basically a random party (-: (More)

Since I've started flatting (or is it since Parachute?) I reckon I've grown up alot. Not on the outside, on the inside. I noticed this when my sister came round and didn't believe what I was doing. In the process of this, I've learnt some stuff. (More)09 May, 2005
This was my first ever cooking accident. I can cook, I just made a mistake. Once. I just made my mince spontaneously combust and smoked out the flat. It was really cool to watch, and still tasted fine (though I was told it was a little "smoky"). I know exactly what I did wrong, and next time, I'm filming it. It's kinda cool to have flames come out of a pot. (More)02 May, 2005
I got all the images up. They are in time order, with newest first. Look at the Tiger photos.14 Apr, 2005
Yesterday, when we got home, there was a nice box, addressed to me sitting on the porch. I opened it, and found a gun, 6 refills and a t-shirt inside. Cool. The total cost of all this to me was $0.19125

We went shopping yesterday. And this was no ordinary shop. Disgusted by the incredibly high prices at the local supermarkets (Karori has 2, and they both suck. Bigtime. This suburb is utterly useless in most instances) we boarded a bus and headed off on a 6 section journey on a 4 section bus ticket. (More)
ABOUT ME
I'm Michael Welsh (or yomcat), a 23 year old something from Wellington, New Zealand. I was married on the 23rd of February 2008 to Melissa. I enjoy discrete mathematics mainly, and have a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics. I have an iMac, called Gordon (named after my grandfather), and my "something small for Uni", known as Zepto. Oh, and Steve. Currently, I am doing my Masters, in the area of Matroids. I have a rather large (entire wall) blackboard in my room (3.24m2), and a little (A4) one that lives in my bag. I like long walks in the forest, playing computer games and stat whoring.
