So, the best explanation for the phrase "Mighty to Save" is because it's biblical. Following on in this theme, I've found some lines that I think would make great worship songs (ie, mindless garbage). (More)

Officially, the reason we went to Palmy for 8 sleeps was to go to a wedding of two people I'd met once and didn't recognise at all. Surprisingly, I wasn't very interested during their wedding, especially the singing. Though the intended reading (1 Corinthians 1-13) could have been interesting... (More)

To start with, what looked like the best thing to happen for VUWSA in 2 years didn't work because some people were too precious with their power and made a gigantic slur campaign out of it. And now this. Bloody Politicians.

08 Oct, 2007

On Sunday, at church there was a talk on Truth, Love and Tolerance. I found myself disagreeing with large portions of the first two (there were 3 speakers) mini-sermons. The love one was because love is something that I've been thinking about lately (with my upcoming wedding) and I have some slightly different ideas of what love is all about (you may have to wait for my wedding to hear them though) (More)

It's over. The most over-hyped, commercialised and just plain annoying time of year has passed. Good. Oh, I don't like Christmas. I managed to give away some pretty nifty stuff. A snickers wrapper. Testing out some RSS crap. Stupid thing.

15 Dec, 2005

I just heard this on the radio: "The children need to know that the computer is not their's". Well, people still look at me as a child (I'm 19!) and I own 3 computers. And my brother has one. And he's still a child. Stupid morons on radio that think they know about computers. Or, rather, that know alot of "useful hints" that I would never even consider to use. You know, the ones you give to your friends and parents. The ones that people who don't know about computers get suckered into using because some sales guy is doing his job. (More)

Everyone else (well, my entire collection of RSS feeds. So that's all the important non-ygn hosted blogs) is doing personality posts. So I'll jump on the bandwagon and have a go.
Yup, my personality has changed. I look back at how I was a few months (even weeks or days) ago and get disgusted. For example, I'm not nice, I'm sincere. So if I do compliment you, I mean on. On the other hand, if I insult you, I probably mean it as well. (More)

Ick. This is a big issue. Everyone is scared of something, whether it is little fears (scared of some person for a brief period of time) or something bigger (scared of losing face). The problem is that people allow fear to rule their lives. I'm not fearless. I don't think it's possible to be fearless. (More)

One of the most important things you have while flatting is the house key. Forget it, and you are basically screwed. However, I somehow still managed to forget mine on Sunday evening, when I went to church.
I had just spend a large portion of time in deep thought (Michael is not yet ironed out. Give me time.) on the bus and the walk up the hill. I realised that I had forgotten my key awhile back, sometime on the bus. However, I still believed that a "back door" was available and I would be able to get in without any problems... (More)

I get this from my brother:
I am not sure if these DVDs will work in a DVD player but they will most definitely work in Apple DVD Player if the above steps are followed. (They did on an iMac G5 2.0Ghz with 512MB RAM, but your useless miniMac might not have the puny amounts of grunt required to run these DVDs Also, the snow may affect the performance, causing the picture to appear slightly pixelated during fast action scenes. This is beyond my control due to the location of your useless miniMac G4. It sucks!) You do not need to copy the VIDEO_TS folder onto your pathetic excuse for a hard drive.

Isn't he nice?

14 May, 2005

They had the free text weekend. Yay. I'm in one now. Sent 368 on the Saturday. And then the weekend ended. And I kept on texting. Only the one person (mainly) but I've got $28.66 + GST spent on texting (minus a bit of on-peak calling). This is evil. Vodafone are shrewd business people that know how to make money. Much better than those Telecom people. Oh, it's good evil, not bad evil...

I'm a Macromedia fan. So when this came out, I got pissed off. I like Fireworks and don't really use the rest of Studio MX 2004. GoLive is horrible and Photoshop is a bloated beast. This can only mean bad things for the industry. Pissed off doesn't start to describe it, actually. Excessively annoyed is starting to get there. Now, all Adobe need to do is buy out Corel and any other crappy software developers that schools are in a habit of using (industry standard my arse), and they can become Microsoft Mk. II. Which, as is we all know, is BAD!!!!!

I was shown how to do something on a Mac. By a 10 year old female. That sucks. It invovles some software that I'm using on Friday.

This sucks. Look at this page, down the bottom. 10 goals scored in total. with 7 of them by me. The own goal is also scored by me (It just rolled over the goailes foot, so it counted), so that 80% of the goals that have been scored by me. Thats horrible. There needs to be more people on the scoresheet, especially a female name. I reckon someone will get one eventually.
So, Andy and Simon, score more goals. Ivan as well, if you play for us. I'm sick of having no other strikers.

12 Feb, 2005

Okay, maybe I am good. According to this PDF, 7347 people entered Lvl 3 Mathematics with Calculus. Of these, I dunno how many entered Lvl 4, but 242 got Scholarship. This is 3.293861440044% of people, placing me in the top 3.293861440044% of stuff. In Stats, 11674 people entered Lvl 3 and 315 got Scholarship grade, placing me in the top 2.698303923248% of people. These numbers are quite larger than what I'm used to (top 1% is kinda normal, or was, but that was for little competitions that I only ever got $50 from) but still seem to be average. There is still a chance I got some money prize, but I'm as confused as everyone else about what the Government is trying to do with it's screwed up (or so they say) NCEA. More waiting.
And I still think I did crap. Numbers like that are bad.

05 Feb, 2005

I took the plunge and got myself a LiveJournal. From what I've seen so far, I'm not impressed. The interface sucks, I don't like it, and it gives out stupid URLs as links. I think I'll be sticking with pLog and yomcat.geek.nz for quite awhile longer. (More)

I got my exam papers back today. First one I looked at was my Excellence in Calc, "Manipulate real and complex numbers, and solve equations". I got one of the questions wrong. 1c. I'm currently looking through my Stats papers to see if I got any 100%s at all. (More)

My sisters were probably scared lots. I just sat there and tried the read the paper. It was moving. GRRRRRRRR. (More)

26 Oct, 2004

I just saw Collateral at the movies. Rated R-13. I can't figure out how it got this rating. Sure, the movie had a little bit of blood and swearing, some shooting and some gunfights. But, compared to The Passion of the Christ it was nothing. And the Passion was only R-16. I don't get it. Something is seriously screwed with the people that put the censors on. I don't mind, as it's a little over a month until I can see any movie I like, but I just don't get it. Watch both movies, and you should be able to see what I mean.

10 May, 2004

I recently (as in Saturday) won a copy of MS Office 2004 Mac from MacGuide. As I'm not a Microsoft man, I have had a few suggestions with what I should do with it. Such as: burn it (with fire), give it to Mum, install it on as mnay computers as I can free of charge, and my favourite one, which is quoted below. I'll probably end up doing a mix of all of them. :-)
Edit:To all of you who are taking this seriously, it's a joke. I'm not going to do anything unnatural to the CD. It's gonna go to an undisclosed person. (More)

25 Oct, 2003

Okay, so my ISP doesn't cache all pages, it seems.
Franki just installed the counter for me, at yomcat.geek.nz, and I have yet to see the changes. However, when I was updating the NZ Tuatara pages, I saw the changes to the pages instantly without having to do anything but click on the navigation links (I use frames on that site). I've emptied my cache on this machine more than once since the unfortunate incident, and the source code still hasn't changed. I know that it has changed, because I validated it and it shows the JavaScript hiding in there. I would check in another browser, but I only have Internet Explorer and WannaBe, which is text-based.
So, I came to the conclusion that my ISP only caches pages from yomcat.geek.nz. This seems very, very odd to me. I would email them to make sure, but I'm not entirely sure if its not Internet Explorer screwing me over, like it has done many times in the past. Time, OS X and more decent browsers for the Classic OS will tell.

17 Oct, 2003

I've been slowly trying to change the look of this blog, by doing some simple CSS editing. However, I changed the pages all right, Franki said he saw the colour changes fine, but I couldn't. This sucks. So, I'm assuming that my ISP is caching the pages. This is bad. So, it may take awhile for me to get the pages working (and looking) good. The really annoying part, is that these are PHP pages, which aren't supposed to cache.
So, if you see any odd colour schemes, blame my ISP
