Day 38 - River Flying
13 June 2014, 02:47

Canon EOS 70D, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens @ 182mm, 1/1000 second @ f/4, ISO 100.
The Manawatu is very dirty. But it was nice and sunny this afternoon, so I went for a little walk down to the river (it’s nice to be close to a nature reserve kinda thing) and spent awhile panning at some birds that were trench-running the river. Take-home points: the subject needs to be larger (so longer lens or closer yomcat) to let the AF track it well, and I’m getting better at panning with birds.
Tomorrow I go to a running meet.
